BEA Raffle
The closing of the BEA Raffle showed insight in the importance of connections formed and experience gained from these types of meetings within the Construction Industry. It was best said by Nick Luzar, NSW and ACT state manager for Hansen Yuncken, that stated the most beneficial way to progress the construction industry as a whole is for the construction professionals to pass on their career learned experience to the emerging generation!
Reflections of Interviews by Attendees
“A really great discussion with differing attitudes towards approaching construction situations and developing connections – the importance of relationships. Chris touched on the methods which he finds important in negotiation. Chris brought his insight on the Opal Towers situation, where he was employed by Icon at the time and this was a very interesting topic to me.”
- Leon Kamel’s interview with Chris Bellemore (Operations Manager at Taylor):
“Very beneficial to be exposed to someone in such an important and influential role! He shared his thoughts on seizing opportunities, more specifically saying yes to opportunities so that you will always be considered for any future opportunities that come! He expressed the importance for industry professionals to take part in these similar typed meetings to pass on their wisdom to the emerging generation.”
“The experience was definitely worthwhile as I learnt information about the industry that is normally not taught in university. For example , the most valuable thing I learnt was how a large construction company is structured and the possible job pathways to become a project manager.”
