“What I liked most about the event was being exposed to the daily activities of a tier 2 company on such a large project. Going to the Opera House site enabled me to gain an experience in both the site office and on-site. I enjoyed how I was able to shadow my site engineer and be exposed to the job and work that he performs daily as it gave me a true insight into the industry that I’m wishing to pursue as my career. I liked the staff morale and culture of the company and how they were able to share their knowledge with others and the cadet on site. Overall, I was able to see the detail of work that is required in the process of such a large project (refurbishment of the Opera House) and the need for accuracy and safety for the best achievable outcome of the final project. It made me excited to start working in the industry and apply what I’m studying on a real-life project. All the staff involved made us UTS student’s number 1 priority on the day and made sure we got the broadest experience of the site possible.”
